Economic development is carried out with a variety of programs and activities that are reflected in the efforts of the government together with other instruments in the framework of efforts to develop all existing potentials. Enrekang district population growth has increased every year, both caused by the population growth of Enrekang Regency itself and migration from the area around Enrekang Regency. This study aims to determine the effect of population growth and per capita income both partially and simultaneously on economic development in Enrekang Regency. This research uses quantitative research types and the data is processed with the needs of the model used. Data processing techniques using multiple linear regression through SPSS 16. The data used is secondary data derived from historical records or reports that are arranged in published and unpublished archives. The results showed that population growth and per capita income had a significant effect on economic development in Enrekang Regency, with a significance level of 5%. Significant value showed greater than significance level α = 0.046 <0.05 so that H0 was rejected and H1. From the regression results, the R-squared value of 0.997. This means that the independent variable is able to explain the variation in economic development in the regency by 99.7% while the remaining 0.3 is explained by other variables outside the model.
